Job DescriptionJob Description IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Lead, Package Engineering SUPERVISION: N/A SUMMARY The package engineer, mechanical and rotating equipment, is an integral part of the project team, coordinating the technical side of all activities related to the design, definition, sourcing, manufacturing and installation of the equipment that makes up the Enerkem ethanol production plants. RESPONSIBILITIES The mechanical package engineer has the following responsibilities: * Develop drawings and technical sheets for mechanical and rotating equipment, in preparation for calls for requests for quotations * Coordinate review activities for the multidisciplinary technical documents for specific equipment sets, to meet the project calendar * Prepare technical specifications leading to requests for quotations for the purchase of mechanical and rotating equipment, and support the sourcing team in the requests for quotations process * Manage the technical analysis process for requests for quotations, as well as clarifications to provide to bidders, and release technical recommendations for purchase * Review and approve the technical documentation from the suppliers, and coordinate the review of these drawings by the other disciplines (drawings, calculations, technical sheets, materials lists and replacement parts) * Provide technical support during the manufacture of the equipment under his responsibility, including releasing the equipment for final delivery * Analyze options during the development of the project, in collaboration with the process and mechanical engineering groups, to optimize direct and indirect equipment costs, scheduling and process efficiency * Manage or collaborate on technical projects, based on needs (technical evaluation of suppliers, collaboration on commissioning of industrial facilities, etc.) * With the support of the process team, carry out market studies to select and size the mechanical and rotating equipment that meets the process criteria and budget requirements * Support the detailed engineering group in the detailed design of modular systems * Contribute to the development of the company’s corporate standards * Support the construction team when required EDUCATION * Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering EXPERIENCE * Member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) with 5 to 15 years of relevant experience * Experience in mechanical design and construction/ verification pre operation on multidisciplinary projects * Engineering experience on projects that include rotating equipment, system management, supply and transportation of bulk solids, centrifuges, decanters and filter in heavy industry * Engineering experience on projects that include pressurized systems, compressors, pumps in heavy industry, an asset * Engineering experience in heavy industry, preferably petrochemical * Knowledge of various industry standards, such as API, ASME, ANSI, TEMA, CSA, etc. OTHER SKILLS * Knowledge of codes for piping and pressurized devices (vessels, heat exchangers, etc.), such as ASME B31.3 and Section VIII Div.1, an asset * Knowledge of design and calculations for pressurized equipments, an asset * Knowledge of pipe system design and pipe stress analysis, an asset * Relevant experience with 3D visualization/navigation software (Navisworks Freedom, Navigator or equivalent), an asset * Knowledge of metallurgy, welding, steel structure and materials resistance, an asset * Strong ability for teamwork * Bilingual, spoken and written (English/French) * Ability to manage multiple tasks with little supervision Qualifications null Additional Information null
