Apparel Sourcing Specialist


This is a Contract position in Sherbrooke, QC posted November 20, 2021.

As Apparel Sourcing Specialist, your role will be to facilitate and coordinate the production of our in-house designed and developed technical outerwear, gloves and apparel with our suppliers. 


  • Partners with the Development team during initial development to execute development packages with suppliers.
  • Carries out raw material sourcing to meet price, aesthetic, and quality needs in conjunction with Design and Development.
  • Allocates samples and source raw materials from appropriate vendors/factories/mills and determine raw material similarities in an attempt to find economies of scale.
  • Partners with Design and Product Management to drive trends/concepts to executable samples by working with the agent/vendor/factory.
  • Obtains, reviews and assesses new cost quotes, analyzes history and escalates costing challenges to supervisor for costing options/negotiations. 
  • Sources and selects appropriate factories and mills for each commodity.
  • Works on alternative solutions so garments meet cost and quality requirements from initial through final costing and reviews options with the Development Manager.
  • Ensures production calendar is being met
  • Reviews outstanding issues on Production Status, takes action accordingly and escalates to Development Manager as needed.
  • Works with Buying on garment costs, buys, production planning, liabilities and deliveries


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • 4+ years of buying/sourcing experience within the apparel industry  
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills  
  • Self-lead and an independent thinker with the ability to drive results in a fast paced environment  
  • Strong communication, presentation and influencing skills  
  • Proven ability to foster and maintain strong business partner relationships with internal and external teams  
  • Extremely detailed and goal oriented, paired with the ability to deliver results against set targets  
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate ideas and communicate with cross-functional teams to achieve goals  
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint as well as Adobe Illustrator 
  • Bilingual, English and French preferred
  • Relocation is available.
