National Multi-Residential Innovative Design Ltd is the engineering arm of the Lépine Apartments.THE OPPORTUNITY:The NMID M&E Engineering team is an integral part of a highly skilled and engaged team of Architects and Engineers for Lépine Apartments.

The Mechanical Engineer will be involved in a broad range of projects and activities related to new multi-residential property design and construction.This role offers significant opportunities for professional growth and expansion of knowledge while working alongside a team of premier builders with a proud and well-established reputation for being leaders in multi-residential construction in Eastern Ontario.

It also offers the opportunity to see projects from inception through online operation conditions providing valuable learning feedback.YOU:Thrive in a collaborative environment where communication is key to successful teamwork.Possess the determination to drive your own learning and to keep up with emerging developments within the industry as well as the firm by continually seeking innovative ideas, technologies and solutions that will enhance our capability to outperform within the industry.Are customer-centric and solutions-focused; by understanding our client”s expectations for a luxurious lifestyle while balancing cost-effective construction and maintenance for the ongoing viability of our properties.You seek excellence in the accomplishment of your work and take pride in the knowledge of a job well done.What we offer:Competitive salaryHealth Care Spending Account after completion of probation periodWe work 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, but we are highly flexible2 weeks of paid time off, in addition to time off for statutory holidaysFree on-site parkingJOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE:To research, design and develop mechanical systems related to plumbing, Hydronics, HVAC, fire protection and controls system for new residential rental projects for Lépine in a timely manner while maintaining our standards and upholding the Lépine brand.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIESDesign and draft various building systems (plumbing, HVAC, hydronics, fire Protection and Controls Systems) for new residential rental propertiesPerform all HVAC and Plumbing load calculationsComplete equipment selections with SuppliersIdentify and prevent design issues, propose solutionsCoordinate design and work closely with other consultantsWork split between office duties and site visitsWorks independently and with minimal supervisionReview shop drawingsPerform general site review and identify code related deficienciesComplete inspections and provide implementation defects.Address design questions from the construction team in real-timePrepare site instructionsPrepare and lead Commissioning Plan for contractor”s implementation.

Report upon completion.Provide technical support to the Property Management teamTroubleshoot issues for sites under operationAdditional responsibilities may be added from time to time, depending on organizational requirements.POSITION REQUIREMENTSP.Eng with at least 4 years of design experience in building system designCompetent skills in AutoCAD and REVITUnderstanding of building codes including OBC, ASHRAE, NFPA, CSA and all others related to mechanical designPrevious experience preparing drawings and coordinating designs with other disciplines including architectural, structural, civil, and electricalEnthusiastic and ready to learn; is an engaged contributing member of the engineering teamStrong technical skills with the ability to diagnose problems.
