Human Resources Coordinator

Calogy Solutions

This is a Contract position in Sherbrooke, QC posted January 9, 2022.

Calogy Solutions is a fast growing and financially back Startup operating in the promising industry of batteries for electric transport. Our innovative battery thermal management system provides batteries with longer lifetime, quick charge abilities and much more. We have built a strong technical team and organizations culture, and we would like to add an HR Coordinator to our team to provide support to our employees, participate in strategic planning and sustain our company culture.

If you consider yourself someone dynamic, with strong problem solving and interpersonal skills, and bring a few years of HR experience to the table, you may be suited for the role of HR Coordinator at Calogy Solutions.

Reporting directly to the Business Operations Coordinator, this role will work with our cross-functional business team to grow and develop or HR department, build a strategic roadmap for recruitment and promotions, and address various other business challenges and activities.

Primary objective:

To manage the human resource department operations, building and promoting a strong company culture.


  • Overseeing the recruitment, selection & hiring process, including but not limited to: job postings, talent sourcing, sorting resumes, reviewing applicants and developing short list, conducting interviews, reference checks, facilitating hiring process, integration and follow up after hiring;
  • Facilitating the new hire onboarding process including creating the new digital file, scheduling meetings, creating first weeks documentation, etc;
  • Facilitating employee performance reviews and establishing growth paths
  • Ensuring employee documents are up to date; including but not limited to pay information, work contracts and certifications.
  • Participate in the development of a competitive compensation structure
  • Assisting managers in developing training programs;
  • Manage occupational health and safety matters in cooperation with health and safety committee
  • Take part in the continuous improvement of our HR practices;
  • Manage HR software to track time off, sick days, etc.
  • Contribute to the planning and implementation of culture building traditions and activities.
  • Preparing, managing and storing paperwork for HR policies and procedures;
  • Performing other related business work as required

  • Fluently bilingual (English/French) both written and oral
  • Post-secondary degree (minimum a certificate) focused in Human Resources  
  • 1-4 years of experience as a Human Resources Coordinator or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge and experience with the entire employee life cycle, from recruitment to promotion or transition.
  • Very strong working knowledge of CNESST regulations, paperwork & processes
  • Registration to the Professional Order of Human Resources Advisors (CHRP) – an asset
  • Experience working in start-ups or manufacturing companies considered an asset
  • Any experience or education in engineering considered an asset
  • Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings, and presentations.
  • Strong listening skills – listens to understand; is not judgmental;
  • Conflict resolution – confronts problems openly and works constructively to find common ground.


Salary: 40000.00-55000.00
