Data Scientist (Askuity division)

Askuity is a Toronto-based retail analytics software company operating as an innovative new division within The Home Depot (THD).

Askuity’s mission is to enable suppliers and merchants at The Home Depot to make profitable, data-driven decisions and drive real-time execution.

At Askuity, we believe that valuable insights are key for helping suppliers succeed.

We collect petabytes of data from our omnichannel platform to develop analytical solutions to help inform and facilitate collaboration between suppliers and merchants at The Home Depot.

From pipelines and schema design to machine learning products and decision support, data science at Askuity is a diverse role with many opportunities to positively impact our success.

Our data scientists focus on pushing products and the business forward, with a focus on solving important problems rather than specific tools.

We are looking for talented data scientists to help us better understand our merchants and suppliers so we can help them on their journey.

You will work closely with the COO, VP of Client Operations, and external experts to build out Askuity’s Data Science capabilities.

We’re looking for self-starters with a strong sense of urgency who thrive when operating in a fast-paced environment, enjoy the challenge of highly complex technical contexts working with hundreds of terabytes of data, and, above all else, are passionate about data and analytics.

Position Responsibilities: Proactively identify and champion projects that solve complex problems across multiple domains Partner closely with product, engineering and other business units to influence product and program decisions with data Apply specialized skills and fundamental data science methods to inform improvements to our business Collaborate with team members to implement end-to-end data pipelines Build actionable KPIs, production-quality dashboards, informative deep dives, and scalable data products Experience/Knowledge Required: Deep understanding of advanced SQL techniques Experience with Python, software development and version-control (Git) fundamentals Experience with cloud services (GCP is a huge pluswe use GCP) Knowledge of applied statistics and quantitative modeling A degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems or another quantitative field
