Software Engineering Manager

This is a Full-time position in Sherbrooke, QC posted May 11, 2022.

We are looking for a System Development Team Manager.

In collaboration with his direct team of 11 people, the product manager and the architects.

This position is at Sherbrooke and we are hoping to find a candidate who can commute to the office 3 times a week.

Main Responsibilities: Resource management (30%) Participate in recruitment and perform performance reviews.

Manage human resources and internal administration of the team.

Develop operating budgets.

Ensure the follow-up of good development practices by the team Project management (70%) Collaborate with the Product Owner to define the team’s priorities and estimate the development effort required.

Participate in the creation and evolution of the technological roadmap.

Create and update the list of risks.

Track action list.

Plan and coordinate the work of multidisciplinary teams to carry out system development mandates entrusted to the business unit.

Take the necessary steps to answer the development team’s questions and eliminate the pitfalls encountered by them.

Follow up on the list of defects and the list of customer tickets and ensure that these are taken care of by the team of software developers within a reasonable period of time.

Present a progress report during project monitoring meetings.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent and at least 5 years of experience in software development.

Previous experience in team management.

In addition, you must have the following skills : Good technical knowledge.

Mastery of the MS Office suite and the Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence).

Good knowledge of Agile methodology (Scrum) Analytical mind, good judgment and rigor.

Great autonomy and proven ability to assess risks and make decisions.

Oral and written communication skills.

Proven work ethic and organizational skills.
