Job description:

Traffic technicians plan, execute and manage the movement of all Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) equipment and personnel. They use all modes of transport from any local, regional, national or international location in support of all CAF Exercises and Operations. They operate in teams in supply chains. This trade is also available in the Reserve Force (part time).

Additional information:


  • Prepare, process, record and account for all transportation documents and forms relating to cargo/equipment and personnel movements
  • Plan, administer, execute and manage the loading and offloading of cargo/equipment, personnel and baggage from military and commercial road, rail, air and maritime transport vehicles
  • Dangerous cargo processing
  • Customs documentation and liaision
  • Operate military vehicles and materiel handling equipment
  • Process transportation contracts, invoices and maintain financial records


In the Regular Force, your work location is not garanteed since you may be asked to work anywhere in Canada. However, if you only want to work in your area, the Reserve Force may be an alternative. Military personnel can be asked to work on atypical schedules. Salary increases according to the rank and experience of the member according to the rates of pay applicable on April 1, 2017. • To have completed at least 24 secondary school units (Secondary 4 and / or 5); OR Have obtained a Professional Diploma; OR Have obtained a certificate of equivalence at the secondary level (AENS-TENS); OR Have acquired General Educational Development (GED).
