YOUR FIRST-YEAR DELIVERABLES

  • Integrate yourself into your department and your role, while developing a trusting relationship with your suppliers, co-workers and the leaders of the sectors you are working with;
  • Take ownership of your internal client’s project cycle by getting involved in different acquisition projects and by developing an annual plan to deploy savings and targeted procurement strategies;
  • Familiarize yourself with the cost structures and the requirement for the various goods and services purchased from our strategic suppliers within the sector to which you will be assigned, the organization’s budget cycle, the impact you can have on it and the planning involved in a bidding process, negotiation and contracting.

YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contribute to the success of the company by sourcing the best suppliers and managing over $500,000 of procurement activities while meeting the required deadlines, costs and service quality;
  • Create value for our shareholders and our internal clients via effective, company-wide category management strategies and a positive impact on spending, cash flow and overall service quality;
  • Act as a true business partner in the management of your purchasing categories, work together with the leaders of the sectors being supported in order to be consulted on and influence the critical procurement and spending decisions for the organization (market monitoring, bidding, supplier selection, renewal);
  • Maximize collaboration efficiency through proactive use and management of SAP and Ariba, plus process expertise to deliver strategic procurement best practices;
  • Ensure sustainable internal and external relationships by acting responsibly, transparently and in accordance with the company’s corporate policies, indirect purchasing policy and sourcing guidelines; 
  • With the legal department, manage the drafting and revising of contracts and compliance with Statements of Work (SOW) for over $500,000 in the planning, review and contractual negotiation process;
  • Manage contracts and their annexes, from signing to termination (or expiration), and manage post-closure follow-up as required;
  • Support the internal client in managing relationships with service providers, evaluating their performance and following up when required.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in administration or other related fields;
  • A minimum of 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in procurement of professional, IT and corporate services;
  • Fluency in French and English is essential, both written and spoken;
  • Strong knowledge of the Google/Windows environment (Doc/Word, Sheet/Excel, Slide/PowerPoint), SAP, the full Ariba and PowerBI suite would be an asset;
  • Ability to develop, track and monitor the execution of multiple initiatives at once with proven success in terms of first-class annual cost savings;
  • A proven collaborator and a strategic thinker who can develop and implement creative negotiation strategies and strategic relationships
  • Possess basic knowledge of commercial law in order to create standard contracts; understanding company names and incorporation laws would be an asset.
