Social Media Specialist


This is a Contract position in Sherbrooke, QC posted January 8, 2022.

” Can-Am On-Road is looking for a seasoned social media expert to join its brand team in its mission of changing the face of riding, through a best-in-class social media presence.

If your Instagram feed is curated, you know the latest TikTok trend and that you know how to generate massive engagement; we want to ride with you In this role, you will oversee the Can-Am On-Road’s social media presence; and collaborate with our Community Engager to coordinate content and find new ways to connect with our fans and followers.

The Social Media Specialist will have an impact on how we manage our social media presence and tell our story in the social sphere by overseeing all the day-to-day social media operations, this includes, but is not limited to: planning and creating content with the support of the broader brand team, build strategy, monitor channels performance, collaborate with regions, etc.

To excel in this role, you possess a passion for social media, a strategic mind, an in-depth understanding of top platforms, outstanding organizational skills and strong visual storytelling abilities.

This role is a nuanced and powerful opportunity to help drive and amplify the social media presence of Can-Am On-Road.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Social media operations, strategy and alignment Oversee day-to-day social media operations (scheduling, posting, etc) Support social platform strategy for the brand, including maintaining platform playbooks and roadmaps at a North American and global level Support the expansion of social handles into new platforms such as TikTok and Reddit Provide strategic input as a subject matter expert and partner with cross-functional teams, including Brand Marketing, Media, PR, Global, Media House, Customer Care to deliver on key business objectives Work closely with Can-Am Community Engager to manage opportunities, crisis, reporting and social advocate tracking Content development, production and execution Take responsibility for the briefing and production of social content with the support of the Community Engager to create engaging social content that breaks through in culture Collaborate with the Media team on an aligned paid/earned media strategy Collaborate with the broader team on building social activation plan Identify opportunities for innovation in emerging social channels and develop plans to test-and-learn, while maintaining owned platforms and channels Performance monitoring Monitor performance and deliver reporting with thoughtful and strategic insights to optimize performance and inform future work YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS 3 to 5 years of experience coordinating social media channels for brands A passion for social media with an in-depth understanding of top platforms and how brands should use them to show up authentically and deliver tangible results Deep knowledge of Facebook Business Suite (Ads Manager, Creator Studio, etc.) and the ability to work with various social management platforms Ability to work as part of a cross-functional team to help shape and inform marketing campaigns and communications Intermediate skills with tools such as Photoshop, Adobe Spark, Canva, Lightroom, etc.
